Safari by Paul Clement: Lyrics & Biblical Song Review

Safari by Paul Clement exudes the courage, joy and peace we possess when walking in the presence of the almighty God. Though we face numerous hurdles in our lifetime, we neither crumble nor fall, but rather prevail in victory.

We only prevail by the power of God who dwells in us. He is our strength in times of weakness, refuge in times of siege, warrior in times of battles, joy in times of adversity. Our sufficiency only comes from Him.

Therefore we dare say:

Romans 8:31 KJV

[31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Toka mwanzo wa safari yangu
Aliahidi kuwa upande wangu
Hivo najua siko peke yangu
Niko na Yeye Yuko na mimi

Mawimbi yaje yasije
Upepo uje usije
Najua mtuliza mawimbi
Niko na Yeye Yuko na mimi

Furaha yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Amani yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Furaha yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Amani yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Na kama Bwana akiwa upande wangu
Ni nani aliye juu yangu
Sababu Yeye aliye upande wangu
Yuko juu ya juu zote

Magonjwa yaje ama yasije
Na majaribu pia
Najua aliye upande wangu
Yuko juu ya juu zote

Furaha yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Amani yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Furaha yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu Yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Amani yangu ni kwa sababu
Mungu yu upande wangu
Kaahidi haniachi hanitupi
Yuko nami

Main themes

Safari by Paul Clement is built on the following themes:

  • The Faithfulness of God
  • God’s Presence with us
  • The benefits of His presence
  • Fear Not

The faithfulness of God

It is God who ordains our lives, even before we come into the world. He knew us before conception, He knits us while in the womb and divinely ordains a purpose unto every person.

Psalm 139:13-14 KJV

[13] For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

[14] I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

His involvement in our lives does not cease, He remains faithful to the end. God goes ahead to sustain us by the breath we take in every moment and provide all we need. He sees to completion the good work that he begins in us.

Philippians 1:6 KJV

[6] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

And when we are faced by temptations, God is faithful not to allow anything that is beyond our strength to come our way.

1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV

[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Hebrews 10:23 KJV

[23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

God’s Presence with us

The presence of God bears significant impact in a believer’s life. As can be seen in the lives of many people in the Bible, great feats were achieved with God’s presence. Think of Joseph who though imprisoned, God orchestrated his rise in Egypt, Moses with all the signs and wonders, Joshua who led the Israelites to many conquests, David who conquered Goliath and led Israel in God’s ways. Christ promised a helper, the Holy Spirit, to be with us at all times.

When we abide in Christ, He abides in us as well, and both the Father and the Spirit dwell in us. We therefore walk in boldness and courage, devoid of fear.

Joshua 1:9 KJV

[9] Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
John 14:23 KJV

[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Benefits of the presence of God

The presence of God is fulfilling to the believer. Man was created to dwell forever in the presence of God. In His presence is an abundance of peace and fullness of joy.

Psalm 16:11 KJV

[11] Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 27:4 KJV

[4] One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

Fear not

Numerous personalities in the Bible faced fear while pursuing their Godly mandates, but God always offered the common assurance, “Fear not.” For every assurance, God asserted His presence being with the subject. Being in the presence of God spurs faith in us, driving away fear. Furthermore, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of a power, love and a sound mind.

Isaiah 41:10 KJV

[10] Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
