A song of Old

Give me a song of old

Let me listen to it

Let me sing along it

Let it drive away the cold

Let it brighten the day

I don’t mind sharing the story

of how my first time listening to the muse felt

The way it swept me off my feet

Blew my mind

and made me realize the beauty of art

The song of old does not only entertain

But also educates

It is masterly crafted with precision out of this world

The artist of the song

Focuses on the art and not on their lifestyle

The song of old is one filled with jargons

Such that the children and the old can equally enjoy

as the message is coined to suit every listening ear.

Story behind the poem

Music has evolved, and while it is becoming better, we can reflect on the music that made us happy while growing. Songs of the past generations are different from the songs we currently enjoy, and they are different in many good ways.

I feel that musicians back in the day invested in the art, from the way the songs sounded more poetic, more than their lifestyle, as part of the current bunch of musicians is focused on having to put their life all out on the different social media platforms.

Not to dismiss the impact that social media has brought in making the music scene one that is engaging and easily accessible for the audience.

Songs give us an experience and make us happy. As I take you back into remembering ‘songs of old’, the current music we listen to we will also remember in the future and will definitely bring about memories.

  1. Can fully relate to how old jams are such a vibe and carry such great messages & inspirations compared to the music in the present day! However, we can’t lack a few that we love in the present day & will definitely remember in the future…
Loved reading & relating to this piece!❤️ Good job Le Poete Pavama 😊
