Nimesamehewa by Jaque Gachiri Ft Onjula Praise proclaims of Christ’s ressurection and it’s lavish transformation on the believer. Christ’s victory over death, the grave and sin ushered us into an era of grace, marked by total forgiveness of sin and freedom to say the least.
Ressurection remains foundational to the Christian faith. As Christ commanded, we often commemorate His death and ressurection, not in sorrow, but in gratitude, rejoicing and confidence of the new creation He made of us.
Nimesamehewa presents a cause for celebration for the greatest victory and emblem of our faith — Christ’s ressurection.
We dance for we have been forgiven. We have been set free. We’re no longer captives of sin.

Song review
Main themes
Nimesamehewa by Jaque Gachiri Ft Onjula Praise is built on the following themes:
- The ressurected Christ
- Forgiveness and freedom from sin and bondage
- Transformation
The ressurected Christ
The account of the women who set out to embalm Christ, unaware of His ressurection, bears a remarkable question posed by angels by the rolled tombstone, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
Luke 24:5,6 KJV
[5] and as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
[6] He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
This question sets the premise for a declaration of Christ’s ressurection, which sets the foundation of the Christian faith, He is not here, but is risen.“
Were it not for this ressurection, the Christian faith would be vainful and hopeless, as Paul expresses it:
1 Corinthians 15:14, 17, 19-21 KJV
[14] and if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
[17] and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
[19] If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
[20] But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
[21] For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
Forgiveness, freedom from sin and bondage
Christ became our sacrificial lamb and afforded us the forgiveness of sins. As he died, and rose again to life, we too have died to sin, flund forgiveness, and now live a life of righteousness unto him.
By the riches of His grace, we are no longer subject to condemnation. We bear the victory that overcame death, the grave and sin. Hence we live a life of freedom, overcoming all that comes our way.
Colossians 2:12-13 KJV
[12] buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
[13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Transformation
Adoption, forgiveness, renewal, sanctification, set free, eternal life — all the ways to express the immense transformation that takes place in one who has believed in Jesus.
The old goes away, and a new life takes over. We no longer live, but Christ lives in us, with His victory over sin, and His power within us.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
[17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Audience
Before the cross, sin is powerless. Filled with the conviction of the finished work of Christ, a believer ought to conduct their life, work out their faith with confidence.
Wanna rejoice over the forgiveness of Christ? This is your song. Still, are you uncertain about this gift? This song will help appreciate what Christ did.
