Muite by Eve Nyasha Ngoloma Ft Paul Clement & Kambua appeals to the soul burdened and worn out from sin to call unto Jesus, who paid a hefty, one-off price for forgiveness of all sin.
He is ready to listen, and has already ransomed us from the penalty of sin. We only need to accept His gift, and live in freedom.
The song Muite bears close similarity to Nyasha Ngoloma’s Nichunguze, a song of a plea for God’s mercy and His presence.

Song Review
Main themes
Muite by Eve Nyasha Ngoloma Ft Paul Clement & Kambua is built on these themes:
- Repentance
- Redemption by the blood of Jesus
- Merciful and loving saviour
- Refuge to the burdened
- Attentive saviour
Repentance
Since the days of Adam, man has been predisposed to sin, which consequently drives a reef between him and God. But our God, being rich in love, seeks us out for reunion with Him. This speaks to the core mission of Christ – to seek and find the lost.
While sin alienates us from God, His love restores us to Him through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Reunion begins with repentance – turning away from sin and living in obedience to God while He transforms us into His likeness.
God is faithful to forgive sins, and adopt into sonship the sinner. What’s more, by the work of Christ on the cross, we have forgiveness of sins, and when we believe, we live in the freedom of knowing we’re already redeemed.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
[14] if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Redemption by the blood of Jesus
Our God is just. He requires propitiation through shedding of blood for every sin committed. Hopeless in our sins, Christ became our propitiation. He gave His life on the cross, and shed His blood to pay the heavy price demanded by the God’s justice.
Christ paid this price so that no one would perish under the power of sin, and that we wouldn’t have to live in condemnation or in endless struggle to fight a battle that is won. He defeated sin, the work is complete.
Through Christ, we are redeemed. Check out this article that tackles the issue of forgiveness in depth.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV
[7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Merciful and loving saviour
Paul testifies that God is rich in mercies. The accounts of the disciples in the Gospels testify of the compassion Christ showed to the sick and oppressed.
Ephesians 2:4-5 KJV
[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[5] even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Unlike religious leaders of the day, Jesus was impartial to perceived sinners like Zacheus, Matthew the tax collector, or the woman at the well. He had compassion on them, and against expectation, He interacted closely with them.
His love goes out seeking for lost. It’s the kinda love that considers the one lost soul above those in the fold. There’s rejoicing in heaven whenever a lost soul is found.
Greater love knows no sacrifice than Christ’s death on the cross. This is the purest form of love.
John 15:12-13 KJV
[12] This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
[13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Refuge for the burdened
Sin bears heavily on the soul, burdening it with guilt, shame and reproach. Christ calls on all who are burdened to come to Him for rest.
He takes away the burden of sin, and loads on us His burden of righteousness, one that is light and of good cause.
Matthew 11:28 KJV
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Attentive saviour
Jesus cares. He is ready to listen to us. In our moments odlf weakness, we ought to humble ourselves and run to Him, remembering that He cares.
1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
[7] casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Jesus also asserts that we ask, and that whatever we ask according to His will, we shall receive.
Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
[8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Again, Revelation brings out this posture of our saviour, one who is patiently waiting for us to invite Him into our lives. How great is His love, that He should not only die for us, but also seek to bring us to Him.
Revelation 3:20 KJV
[20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
